Quebec City is the capital of Quebec. It is the second most populous city in Quebec after Montreal. Quebec City was founded in 1608 by Samuel Champlain; it is one of the oldest cities in North America. Birthplace of French civilization in North America, Quebec City carries an old heritage, the old city architecture is just breathtaking. 
The ramparts surrounding the Old Quebec City are the only remaining fortified city walls that still exist in the North America. Quebec City is internationally known for its Summer Festival and his Winter Carnival, where some people take off their clothes to jump out in the snow. The continuous flow of cultural and artistic events makes this city alive the whole year long. Quebec City is unique in North America and has a Romantic European atmosphere, one of a kind boutique and restaurants experience. 
The Chateau Frontenac is the most popular monument to visit; it is actually a high class hotel which dominates the city. As beautiful the day as the night, I suggest you to enter inside to visit the lobby and the shops inside the corridor, and you will be surprised by the prices for a bedroom, it is not that expensive, I will write an article about the Chateau Frontenac later when I will have booked a room there, I plan to do that soon. 
Quebec City is the ideal place to taste the European atmosphere, from art and original finds shops to amazing and irresistible bistros and terrace. There is one place you must visit in the old Quebec city, it is the statue of Louis XIV of France which stands in the square outside the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires. 
When it is time to eat, you can choose among many restaurants, French classic, Italian pasta, Swiss specialities Steak House and so on. Walking along this city is a real great experience, something to do once in your life for sure! |
