Locquirec is a village in Bretagne in north-western France. Locquirec is situated between the superb pink granite coast and the Côte Sauvage.

Locquirec manages to have beaches on both sides, without ever quite being thin enough to be a real peninsula. Around the main port, smart houses stand in sloping gardens, looking very southern English with their whitewashed stone panels, grey slate roofs and jutting turreted windows. On the last Sunday in July, Locquirec holds a combined pardon de St Jacques and Festival of the Sea.

Locquirec was a little fisherman village and has became a tourist place with his famous the Grand Hotel des Bains offering discreet luxury all year round. Inspired by the harmonious polished wooden floors and wooden walls in shades of honey or pearly grey of New England classical style, the hotel is the haven of writers and artists, all drawn to the hotel by its ideal location.


Another attraction is the old church located in the center of the village, Saint Jacques Church dates back to the 1400s, famous for its sundial which is unique to the Breton area of France. Another little particularity is each of the few raised graves had a perfectly prunes miniature hedge around them. There is around a lovely enclosed garden area for you to sit and enjoy the plants.


There are some beautiful sandy beaches in Locquirec and the water is very clean and translucent as you can see it on the picture, you have to think its somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
