What a lovely seafront village in the south of France! Welcome to Sanary sur Mer, peaceful and colourful historic village which becomes a tourist rendezvous every year during the hot summer months. The little fishing port of Sanary sur Mer has changed over the years to a trendy place for tourists.
The colourful seafront buildings reminds me Italia and Miami, a mix of both may be, many bars and restaurants are facing the very well renovated old fishing port. There is a traditional market every day in the old port; you can smell the perfume of the Provence everywhere, when you are walking into this market, its sometimes fresh vegetables smell, then a roasted chicken, then flavour of strawberries and later cheeses… what a great experience for your nose!
The center of this amazing village is full of small walking streets with local shops, clothes, arts, you will find everything you want and enjoy to walk somewhere in shadow during the hot weather in summer.
Just outside the city you will find a long sandy beach, a little crowded in summer but the sea is very beautiful and clean. Just take a look at the colors here; we are in France not in the Caribbean!
If you walk further you will arrive to a small place called Le Brusq. Definitely worth a walk, you may visit the preserved park and follow the rocky way along the cliff. From this point you have a beautiful view on the horizon; with the waves breaking on the stones.
Sanary sur Mer will pleased your senses, a city worth to visit if you go South of France!
